Mayor of Natchitoches, Lee Posey, assures tourist that the city of Natchitoches will be a safe environment during the Christmas Festival.

The great city of Natchitoches was founded in the early 1700’s and today I have the privilege to welcome you to our city.

Natchitoches is a place with a strong sense of community filled with wonderful people driven towards to prosperity of this city. We host our annual Christmas Festival that showcases just a few of the great marvels of our city during the holiday season. This festival attracts thousands of tourists every year.

The mission of the Natchitoches Police Department this holiday season is not only to ensure the safety of its residents, but that of all tourist in the area. Providing a community of peace for all in Natchitoches is the main goal of this department. Striving towards this goal with clear objectives set and understood by every officer. All officers understand that to achieve such community the police service must be based on equality and respect to all.

Creating a new position placing an officer in the downtown area is a step in providing our tourist with a safe environment. Also, keeping a lively presence with additional officer on the street.

Overall, the Office of Mayor and Natchitoches Police Department have the central goals of having a great festival season and creating a safe environment for all in attendance. We believe that with the work of the police department and corporation of the community that this years’ Christmas Festival will be a great one.
